From custom-blend fertilizer to innovation in Florida agriculture, Wedgworth’s, Inc. seeks to help Florida farms grow and prosper.

A diversified agriculture company and member of the FFAA, Belle Glade-based Wedgworth’s, Inc., was started in 1932 by Herman H. Wedgworth, a one-time plant pathologist with the University of Florida’s Everglades Experiment Station. Dennis Wedgworth, the current president of Wedgworth’s Inc., is the youngest son of George Wedgworth, the only son of company founders Herman and Ruth Wedgworth. Dennis has worked in the family business since he was a youngster. Today, as company president, he manages the 20,000-acre farm and ranch lands and Wedgworth’s, Inc., Florida’s largest blended fertilizer company and home of “Big W Brand Fertilizers Since 1932.”

About the Wedgworth’s, Inc President
Dennis was born and raised in Belle Glade. He earned a degree in engineering from Duke University in 1974 and earned his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Florida in 1977. After schooling, he returned to the family businesses and worked to grow the company into the premier custom-blended fertilizer company in the southeast United States. His understanding of the science behind farming, coupled with his business acumen, make him uniquely qualified to lead the cutting-edge custom fertilizer business.

“Our heritage in farming gives us a unique perspective on the needs of our customers,” Dennis has stated.

Wedgworth’s Inc Innovation and Quality Products
Since the inception of Wedgworth Farms and Wedgworth’s, Inc., in 1932, the family-owned and operated business has initiated countless innovations, growing methodologies, and new technologies that make Florida agriculture more efficient and productive. Recognizing the value of the state’s natural resources, the Wedgworth businesses are devout stewards of the land and water and are dedicated to preserving these natural resources for generations to come.

Wedgworth Farms, Inc., headquartered in Belle Glade, grows sugarcane on approximately 10,000 acres in Palm Beach County and operates 10,000 acres of ranch lands in Osceola, Okeechobee, and Indian River counties.

Today, Wedgworth’s Inc. provides custom-blended agricultural plant nutrient products to help Florida farms grow and prosper. As the state’s largest custom-fertilizer dealer, the plant in Moore Haven produces 200,000 tons of custom-blended fertilizer products for farms throughout Florida each year. The company owns and operates a fleet of 175 high-dump trailers with hydraulically operating pouring lids that enable greater accuracy and higher productivity for its customers.
