Enjoy a fun day of clay shooting to help provide scholarships for students in higher education agriculture areas of study.

What can be better than a day of clay shooting with friends? A day of bustin’ clays with friends in order to help support college students studying agriculture, that’s what. You can do both at the FFAA’s 15th Annual Sporting Clays Tournament. Tournament proceeds go toward the FFAA Scholarship Fund, so mark your calendars to join the FFAA on Thursday, Oct. 17, at the Quail Creek Plantation in Okeechobee! Check out the details below.

Details of the 15th Annual Sporting Clays Tournament

The FFAA Scholarship Board of Directors has hosted the tournament for 14 years, and it’s always a good time. The proceeds of the event go toward supporting the FFAA Scholarship Fund, which gives scholarships to qualifying students who are in ag-focused programs at the University of Florida, Florida Southern College, Florida A&M University and Warner University. The scholarships are meant to promote the study of agriculture at the college and university level and boost academic focus and leadership skills in students. The industry is always in need of outstanding agribusiness leaders, and the FFAA is committed to helping students to step into those roles.

The clay shoot offers a host of benefits for participants. It’s an event that operators and agribusinesses can utilize to connect with customers by inviting them to participate under your registration or to award employees with a fun day of sportsmanship! In addition, the Scholarship Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation registered with the IRS, and the sponsorship and registration fees are tax deductible as allowed. Please consult with your tax advisor to enjoy this benefit.

There is always an emphasis on safety at the Clay Shoot Tournament. Rules and recommendations to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all participants include:

Every participant, including volunteers, must be 18 or older and must have eye protection and ear plugs.
No loaded shotguns are allowed at any time anywhere except within the designated shooting area.
Alcohol is not allowed at the tournament.
FFAA reserves the right to deny participation to anyone who does not comply with these safety precautions.
Bring your own shotgun as there are only a few shotguns that can be rented on site. Shells can be purchased on site, but we recommend you bring your own.

Visit FFAA.org to register. You can also call 863-686-4827 or email Amy Pappas at [email protected] with any questions. See you there!
